Are you looking to increase participation in your golf league? Golf leagues incorporate a number of different tournament formats, that’s why they’re so much fun. While it’s always nice to win the weekly skins and make your wallet a little fatter, the heart-pounding pressure while standing over a 5-foot putt on the last hole to secure the win for your team is incomparable. Okay, maybe if it’s to win the Masters...but we’ll stick to league play.

A fellow Aussie and winner of the 1991 Open Championship, Baker-Finch’s tone alluded to how big of a win this was. Not just for Scott, who held the lead for 69 holes at last year’s Open Championship, but for an entire continent that’s waited ever so patiently for its first Masters champion.

Expensive yes, disgusting, no. Take a leisurely drive down to the tournament with a stop at a Waffle House for fuel.

It’s late summer, 2012, and the annual fall boys golf trip loomed—the 17th annual edition of the Spaulding Smail’s Invitational (of course, I use the term “boys” loosely as the average age of the twelve regulars is in the mid-forties, but for four or five days, we are boys again). This year’s edition takes us to Austin, Texas, for the first time.
